Two of our favorite ways of using garlic is garlic honey butter and roasted garlic.
To roast garlic, simple cut the top off the garlic exposing the bulbs and let it sit for 10 minutes. The air activates the garlics medicinal properties, so you want to make sure it sits out for as long as it can.
While you are waiting, preheat the oven to 350 degrees and take out a piece of aluminum foil and your favorite oil (we like grapeseed).
Once the 10 minutes are up, place the garlic in the center of the aluminum and drizzle with oil. Some people like to sprinkle it with salt and pepper, but I’ll leave that up to you. Pull the edges of the foil up around the garlic making a little tent around it, and twist the top shut.
Place the package on the top rack for 20-25 minutes, or until you can feel the cloves squish through the foil. When done, take it out and let it cool.
Eat it as is, or smash it up with a couple pads of butter and 2 Tbsp of butter. Smear the garlic butter over your favorite piece of bread and enjoy!
You can have up to 9 cloves a day, which is 5-6 slices of garlic toast, before you start to smell of garlic. 😉
