Twelve years ago, I began my studies as an herbalist after my children were chronically ill. I was getting tired of urgent care visits and doctor’s offices. So, I began researching and studying blog posts. After hours of reading, I reached into my pantry for common spices like cinnamon, grabbed the closest honey jar and began combining things. Voila! Not only did I make something that would soothe their coughs and ease their scratchy throats, but it tasted good and it was easy to prepare. Shortly after this experiment I found a great team of doctors in pediatric naturopathic medicine, Chinese medicine, and homeopathic medicine. I surrounded myself with like-minded moms and learned from them as well. Shortly thereafter I started my studies at Vintage Remedies in Western Herbalism and science-based Herbalism.
I understand a lot of herbalism is still seen as hewie and hokey and well, for hippies. My hope is that by creating this site you, the reader, will see that it isn’t just mumbo-jumbo, but a different way to look at treating ailments, illnesses, and life without reaching for over-the-counter meds. I firmly believe that there is a time when over-the-counter drugs, prescription drugs, and yes, antibiotics are needed. I am hoping that by posting the studies and research behind some of my posts, you will come to see that there may be another way to start out.

Her oils are easy to make and really, REALLY effective. Especially the Owie Balm which made my kids bumps, bruises, cuts and sores vanish.
Highly recommended, easy to follow, and responds super fast to an email.
I’ve known Jennifer for about seven years now. Her sincerity, passion, willingness to help others, and knowledge of herbs has helped out our family many times. Her bug balm is one of our favorites! When I got pneumonia, she was one of the first people I contacted for help. The tea she recommended helped me be able to breathe. We have been very grateful to her for her health suggestions many times.
